Ball screw drives, also known as recirculating ball screws, consist of a ball screw shaft, a ball nut in which the balls are integrated, and the ball return system.
Ball screw drives are the most commonly used lead screws in industrial and precision machinery. They are used to convert rotary motion into linear motion and vice versa. They are characterised by high accuracy combined with a high level of efficiency.
HIWIN offers a wide range of ball screw drives for a variety of applications. They are available in rolled, whirled and ground versions.
In standard applications, flange nuts in accordance with DIN 69051 Part 5 are frequently used. For more precise applications where high accuracy and zero backlash are required, the DIN single nut DEB or the DIN double nut DDB in accordance with DIN 69051 Part 5 is used on a whirled screw shaft. For highly precise applications, precision-ground ball screw drives with a wide variety of ball nuts are used.
The end machining is carried out either as a standard machining version according to catalogue specifications or in accordance with the customer’s drawing.
Further ball nut designs:
Accessories include fixed bearing units SFA, EK, BK, FK and floating bearing units SLA, EF, BF, FF. The GFD nut housing is suitable for mounting the flange nut in accordance with DIN 69051. In addition, axial angular contact ball bearings of series ZKLF, ZKLN and ZKLFA are available. The accessory range is complemented by HIR locknuts with radial clamping in sizes M8 to M100 and HIA locknuts with axial clamping in sizes M17 to M100.
NSK ball screw drives have long been an established name in the market. This applies in particular to the machine tool sector, where NSK precision ball screw drives are used in the NC machines of many well-known machine manufacturers.
In addition to standard ball screw drives, the product range also includes rolled screw shafts with nuts in accordance with DIN 69051 and ball screw drives made of martensitic stainless steel.
The product range is completed by various designs of fixed and floating bearing units, available as flange-mounted or pedestal-mounted WBK units, as well as WBK type safety nuts.
