Axial deep groove ball bearings consist of shaft washers, housing washers, and ball sets. The bearings are not self-retaining; therefore, the ball set and bearing washers can be assembled independently of each other. In addition to series with flat washers, there are versions with spherical housing washers to compensate for static angular misalignments. These designs are usually used in combination with thrust washers. Axial deep groove ball bearings are available in single- and double-direction designs. Both types can accommodate high axial loads but must not be subjected to radial loads.
