Needle cages are single- or double-row assemblies consisting of cages and needle rollers. The single-row design is based on DIN 5405-1.
Exceptionally low cross-sectional height
Because their radial construction height corresponds only to the diameter of the needle rollers, needle cages enable bearing arrangements with minimal radial installation space. They have a high load capacity, are suitable for high speeds, and are particularly easy to assemble. When the raceways are manufactured with precision, bearing arrangements with high running accuracy are achieved. The radial internal clearance can be influenced by the type of needle rollers as well as the tolerances of the shaft and housing. Needle cages require the raceway on the shaft and in the housing to be hardened and ground.
Double-row
Double-row needle cages are available only in specific outer ring diameters FW. They are designated with the suffix ZW.
