Thin-section bearings are highly precise, quiet, and very robust. These ball bearings are available in three different designs with an extremely small, predominantly square cross-section.
The cross-section remains constant within a series even for larger shaft diameters and housing bores. Therefore, these bearings are also called Constant Section (CS) bearings. This feature distinguishes thin-section bearings from conventional bearings, which are standardized in ISO series. Gradually, a larger cross-section can be selected, allowing the use of a higher load capacity bearing without needing to change the shaft diameter. Thin-section bearings enable the realization of extremely lightweight and compact designs. Thin-section bearings are available as deep groove ball bearings (C), four-point contact bearings (X), and angular contact ball bearings (E). Each of these designs is offered in various series. The series correspond to the cross-section sizes. The balls are matched to the series.
