Sealing Rings

Sealing rings are designed as contact seals. They protect the bearing location against contamination, splash water and excessive loss of grease. The sealing rings are matched to the compact radial dimensions of drawn cup needle roller bearings and needle roller bearings. They are very easy to install, as they are simply pressed into the housing bore. Depending on the shaft surface quality, the sealing rings permit circumferential speeds at the sealing lip of up to 10 m/s.

Single-lip sealing rings
Sealing rings G and GR are single-lip designs made of synthetic NBR elastomer (green colour).
The GR design is intended for shaft diameters up to 7 mm and has an external steel reinforcement for added rigidity.
Sealing rings G are intended for shaft diameters above 8 mm and have a rubber-coated steel reinforcement with a rubber shaft profile for stiffening. This provides good sealing at the outside diameter while also reducing the press-in forces.

Double-lip sealing rings
Sealing rings SD feature a contact sealing lip and a dust lip facing the shaft that operates without contact (marked side). They are made of two plastic components. The seal carrier is made of reinforced polyamide (black colour), while the sealing lip area is made of thermoplastic PU elastomer (green colour).
Sealing rings SD can also be used as scrapers on axially moving shafts. Stroke speeds of up to 3 m/s are possible, depending on the condition of the shaft surface.

Suffix for available INA sealing ring designs:

FPM = Sealing rings G and GR for temperatures from -20 °C to +160 °C or circumferential speeds of up to 16 m/s, special design.
