There are versions with steel or ceramic balls, bearing rings made of standard rolling bearing steel or high-performance steel, open or sealed, and in Direct-Lube design.
For example, high-speed spindle bearings feature smaller steel balls or ceramic balls and are equipped with labyrinth seals.
Direct-Lube bearings are designed for extreme speeds. They are used when oil-air lubrication is required and a reliable lubricant supply must be ensured.
