The condition of the counter-running surface (shaft) is of great importance for the optimal operation of radial shaft seals. If the counter-running surface is worn or damaged, the seals can no longer function properly, resulting in lubricant leakage or contamination entering the bearing.
SKF repair sleeves significantly simplify shaft repair and have been specially designed for worn sealing surfaces. The sleeve is simply pushed over the damaged area, and the shaft is operational again within minutes—at a fraction of the cost of conventional reconditioning. Depending on the required size, SKF repair sleeves are available in two different versions.
Thin-walled repair sleeves that allow replacement of the worn seal with a new seal of the same dimensions. SKF offers Speedi Sleeve sleeves for standard operating conditions and Speedi Sleeve “Gold” sleeves for demanding operating conditions. They are available for shaft diameters up to 200 mm.
LDSLV:
Repair sleeves with a wall thickness of 2.4 mm for shaft diameters from 200 to 1,150 mm. SKF offers the sleeve with flange (LDSLV3) and without flange (LDSLV4).
